History
At the close of the Expedition there were many complaints and criticisms of the way the medical needs of the Expedition had been administered and managed. Chaired by Lord Morley, the Under Secretary for War a committee of enquiry was set up with Sir Loyd-Lindsay as a member. Throughout 1882-1883 the committee met regularly hearing evidence from Army and medical officials including staff, patients and newspaper correspondents, with Florence Nightingale offering suggestions. In the final report the Committee offered recommendations aimed at improving the medical administration including the acceptance of the aid of the National Society in times of war.
