Description
Black and white photograph showing nursing staff and patients wearing 'Hospital Blue' outside the British Red Cross VAD Hospital, situated at No. 184, Queen's Gate, London SW (commonly known as The Michie Hospital). The house was owned by Mrs Michie and loaned for the duration of the war. She was administrator of the hospital during this time and awarded an CBE in 1920 in relation to her war work. She is seated in the centre of the group, wearing a striped shirt.
