Description
Commemorative shield marking the 100th anniversary of British Red Cross in 1970. Wooden shield presented by the Philippines Red Cross Society with an enameled Red Cross emblem at top of shield with the following inscription on brass plate below:
"The Philipine National Red Cross takes pleasure in coveying to the British Red Cross Society greetings on the ocassion of the hundredth anniversary of of its foundation this year, 1970, marking the successful completion of a century of service to humanity by a country that gave tangible form to the Red Cross idea, with our sincerest of wishes for its continued success and pledgeing out wholehearted support and cooperation in the common tasks in carrying on the work of the Red Cross in our respective countries amd elsewhere in the world. Manila, Philipines, 28 July 1970.

Underneath are the engraved signatures of Lucille J Foster (Secretary) and Fernando E.V. Sison (Chairman)
