Description
These two silver dishes were given as a gift to the British Red Cross by the Hong Kong Red Cross Society, when it was a branch of the British Red Cross, to mark the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The dishes feature the image of the Queen. A gold plaque inside the silk-lined lid of the box states, 'To the British Red Cross Society from the Hong Kong Red Cross.'

The Hong Kong Red Cross was established as a branch of the British Red Cross in 1950. Since 1 July 1997, upon the return of Hong Kong's sovereignty to China, the Hong Kong Red Cross has changed its affiliation to become a branch of the Red Cross Society of China.
