Description
The Bath War Quilt is an embroidered hanging/quilt made by recuperating soldiers at the Bath War Hospital as a form of therapy during the First World War. The textile is made from a tabby weave, natural-coloured linen. The design consists of a number of embroidered regimental badges placed in rows across the quilt. The edge is decorated with a single line of drawn thread work. The embroidery has been worked in polychromatic cotton floss, metal thread and small sequins.
